Odd weather

Anyone would think it was a bank holiday weekend or something...

Oh, wait...

Nice bit of product placement.

Trying to improve my diet.
I'm hoping this will help and I do enjoy a nice fruity smoothie but my last maker was sooo complicated to wash up! I think this will be easier. Plus it's less than half the weight. It's all good.

Tiring day

Up and down the stairs.
Saving everything off my laptop so I can restart to factory settings.
Tiring day.
Stupid internet viruses.

Take 2

Thankfully the 2nd try at the nurses went well.
Not brilliant.
But all that needed to be done is done and no need to go back.
Yay.
Still having lovely weather. Loving all the blossoms out against the blue sky.

Did a smidge more of my drawing today.
Hopefully will do a bit more tomorrow too but Nan and Granddad are coming over so may not get the chance.

A day late...

As yesterday my compertooter was invaded by a nasty little buggle.
Super.
Thanks to my comp genius friend all is good now.
Yay.
Check it out, too stressed to wash hair so still not sure how the curl's going to go.
Ahh minor, completely not important worries...

Also - started a new drawing! Hurrah!

Not going to say who it is...sneaky...not sure anyone who reads this will be able to guess though either!
I just felt like a change from girly drawing so boy-y drawing it is.
The photo's just stunning and his eyes are so haunting - I hope I can do it/them justice!
Hopefully this one will take slightly less time to finish than the last...you know, 1 year later...

A bit too short?

I had my hair cut this morning.
In the pic it kind of looks like I've pushed it behind my shoulder but no, it's that short.
Jury's out until I've washed it the first time - what with my natural curlyness n all.
Finger's crossed...

Every year

Dad prunes back the vine and it looks like he's killed it.

Every year this happens.

Love the fuzzy little buds.

Not a fan of the weekly shop

but there's a pretty cool view from the car park.

Obviously I haven't captured it here but I can save the better view for another day, I quite like what I've got here.

Just hanging out

by a cool looking window sill.

Though I'm sure most would say it needs a good coat of paint.

I find pretty in the rough edges.

Another trip to the new library (the sill doesn't belong to them).
Remember I mentioned the clever new check in/out machine thingies? I am officially off them. They're against me! Took me about 20 minutes to check out 5 books. Sigh.

The only problem with real life?

It doesn't come with danger music.

I read that somewhere today, thought it was funny after what happened this afternoon.
Well, danger music may be a bit much, but some sort of warning track leading in to the doctors surgery would have been good.
Let's just say I have an urge to go round and slap all the people that said all I'd feel is a slight twinge when I had my smear test...
I nearly screamed - I thought I was being ripped in 2!
Ok, TMI but still, my goodness...
So I'll be trying again next week...whoopee...
But worth having it of course.

T-shirt weather!

Granted it's been warm(ish) for a while now but because of all my bugs I haven't really felt it.
Now I do.
3 cheers for T-shirt weather!

So much green goodness

So, the trip to Hegistbury Head. Mum and Dad were testing out (well, mum was...) the new car in the car park and I went for a (very) little wander.
First up, a daffodil. Random daffodil. In a field. Guerilla planting! I mean, the only way you can get a daffodil is plant a bulb right? Not like a bird dropping a seed while flying over. Love it!
So, see those towers in the distance? See the town further along? That's Bournemouth. When I was...umm...12/13 my cousins, one of cousins friends and me walked from where I'm standing (ish) to take the photo to Bournemouth and back again to raise money for Children in Need. I don't think I could have made it to that groyne today!

We stopped off at Nan and Gdad's for a cuppa (well, they did. Eurgh, tea...) then decided for a brief walk by the river as it was a nice day and we don't get a lot of those round these parts.

We used to get the ferry to wick with my cousins when we were younger. There was a paddling pool there. That's the only thing I can remember. Clearly they were fun times.
Sooo many boat owners in Christchurch.

Anyhoo, that was our day out. I'm done in. Sleep tomorrow so I can be ready for the docs on Tuesday.
Hope you enjoy the pics

Got bitten by the spring clean bug

It doesn't happen very often but about once or twice or year I just wake up with the urge to clean my room from top to bottom. Picture rails, top of wardrobe, everything. Urgh. So that just about killed me and didn't help my ear at all but I just couldn't sit down.
Really doesn't happen that often.

Aren't these daffodils pretty? Dad had a bag of mixed bulbs that he just chucked into the front garden (I've photographed them for on here a few times now) A bunch of doubles just opened up - aren't they gorgeous? Of course every time I pressed the shutter button the wind blew them - isn't that always the way?!

Also needed to take the above photo for the memory.
Dad bought mum this car as he thought she'd like it to replace her current car, which is kind of falling to pieces.
It's a lovely little car (the new one) - Vauxhall Agila. It looks small on the outside but spacious on the inside, high up so it's nice to get out of when you're tired, comfortable seats, lovely sparkly black colour...
I have kinda fallen in love with it.
Mum hates it.
Dad wishes he could keep it.
I wish it was physically possible for me to drive a manual.
I think we're going to end up selling it.
I wish it was an automatic.
Mum and dad are going to go up to the big car park at Hengistbury Head tomorrow to see how she gets on driving it.
I have a vision that she won't enjoy it.
Call me psychic.

Nearly forgot to take a photo

until we stopped for fish and chips (am I the only one that wishes you could get the fish without the batter?) on the way back from the docs. Luckily I had my phone on me. Stellar shot isn't it?!

According to the doc, though it feels like an ear infection it isn't one. So all the pain without any relief of medication. Super!

Chaaanges

Does anyone remember me posting this picture before? I loved the old library. For some reason they decided they needed to knock it down and build a super monstrosity in its place.
I don't like it. It's a bit like a adult learning centre inside. No cosy comfortable library feeling. Just clinical shelves and books. They don't even have people to check books in and out, there are machines just pile the books into and it scans them. It's kinda clever, but that isn't the point! I want the old one back. And the trees. Bah. I hate change.
And don't let the size fool you - you would think why is she complaining when there's a nice big new library in its place but it isn't! Most of it is offices, social worker type places, the actual libary is smaller.
I know there are bigger things to worry about in the world, but I just donn't do change very well...sigh...
Oh, and I know it looks like - why didn't she step backwards to get more in the picture. Well, they built it further forward than the last one. In fact, looking at the older picture, I think I may be standing in the exact same place judging by the building next to it.
And I didn't plan that.
Cool.

In other news we popped in to the charity shop next-ish door and I discovered half my life up for sale.
It was very disconcerting.
And I've checked, I still own the things that someone else donated.
I had to ask mum if she'd sneaked out my things it was so off putting.
Seriously - CD's, books...it was very odd.
Makes me wonder how out of date some of my things are...!

One day soon

I'll be out and about on a wednesday again.
In the mean time here are my feet in the garden.

Starting to open

The pink looks lovely against the blue sky. Now they're all opening the count down for the great petal pick up begins.
...yay...

Bit better

But could still do with some work...at least I was some what prepared today...

Twisted willow

The branches remind me of those twisty stick ones in those pretzel mix packs (the ones covered in salt). You know the ones that people only ever seem to buy at Christmas but no-one eats any of them? Good stuff.

Blossom's back

This time we have a birds eye view instead of a Pip's eye one (aka, looking up).
All the leaves are starting to come out but sadly this means that the blossom's disappearing.

There could be trouble ahead

Actually, there *will* be trouble ahead.

This is next doors magnolia bush. (yes, bush...tis a bit bigger than it should be)
She's a bit...how do I say this nicely....old and set in her ways? For example, when we moved in dad wanted to change the fence between us. It's on the side that she owns but dad offered to pay for half and put it up, it's falling to pieces. But she refused as 'it will damage her plants'.
It wouldn't in the slightest but there you go. So now we have a fence that is only just upright.
She also doesn't get anyone in to prune anything, hence the size of the 'magnolia bush'.
It all falls into our garden.
Hence the trouble.
Me and mum running around before dad gets back from work picking up all the petals and hoping there isn't a gust of wind - less chance of whinging this way!

Made me smile today

Look away now

You know, Monday comes around every week. I don't know why I'm never more prepared...

Pretty green

I love this shade of green, with the sun shining through.
Spring all over.

Saturday, 3 April 2010

Blossom and blue skies

I love this little blossom tree/bush whatsit in the garden. It's only about 2ft high and the blossom is so pretty, esp. when you stick a cam underneath so you can see it against the blue sky. Ahh spring...

Fallen in love with my phone

just that little bit more. Best photos in the world? No. But I took above while we were driving along and it's not all blurry so I'm happy.
Typical really. Finally managed to get out and it poured down. Luckily it's half under cover.
Got drenched running (well...walking fast...I don't really do running) to the car. Waited for mum before we went over to asda to get the shopping. And a cheeseburger from mcd's. Got one of those instant win vouchers on my chips - I remember last year when loads of people queued up to claim their free burgers and such.
I won free porridge.
I *hate* porridge.
Ah well. Better than a punch on the nose and it's not like I bought it just to win something - I didn't know they were running it again till I went in there.
Anyhoo, when we came out the clouds had gone and it was nothing but blue skies.
I forgot to take any pictures of myself in the changing rooms (...in the outfits...). It usually helps me see whether something looks right - goodness knows them blimmin mirrors are never any good.
I bought a dress.
Willingly.
Without an 'event' to wear it to.
A dress.
I think mum and dad are in shock.
She had a great big grin when I showed her, he said I looked 'odd'. In a good way, he says, but it's just so different he was taken by surprise.
The jury remains out.

I think it will be nice in the summer when the weather gets warm.
Notice I say *when*.
We will have warm weather this year.
Please?

Shiny new month

Still raining but at least I can now sing about April showers without the usual chorus of 'but it isn't April'.

Not a huge fan of horses but I quite like the photo for this months calendar page.
Luckily.
