Second layout for Shimelle's NSD challenges
Here's my answer to the second challenge, to create a triangle with 3 embellishments -

I used Studio Calico's kit 'Singing in the rain'. I was a bit concerned about the red in it as I'm not usually a fan but I love how this turned out! It's another 'focus' page for my doc 2011, this one is March. Pip and the neighbours cat Hugo (I think I've mentioned him on here before - gorgeous ginger boy!) have been having strained relations as of late. Pip's been getting quite jealous of the attention we give Hugo when he comes in the garden - silly boy. Thing is, Hugo is bigger than him and neither of them seemed to have realised it yet (he was a tiny kitten when he first appeared). One day Pip's going to push him too far and he's going to be in trouble! Silly silly boy!

Oh, and if you didn't get it - we're the 'toys'!

A path was cleared!
Dad did a bit more work in the loft so I could get to my desk again. Just in time to do some layouts for Shimelle's NSD challenges that she set last weekend. Here's one that needed patterned paper as the background -

I feel like it's missing something but I can't put my finger on what...
Just a little layout about needing a bit more confidence in myself - nothing new there!

Hmm...

So I'm having a slight problem at the moment. See, at the start of last month I didn't feel well so I held off doing my Teamie Stacey's CJ until I was feeling better.
Then suddenly (his favourtite way to attack household renovations) Dad decided he was putting a loo in the loft.
Suddenly my desk/tools/photo albums etc...were covered in a thin layer of plaster board dust and sawdust. Yay. It wouldn't bother me so much but he covers every last square inch in dust sheets when he's at work!
I figure I can wait for a little while until he got to a point where he could finish his bits and I could clean.
So I waited and waited and this week he had finished to the point where he needed the window fitted and the plumbing done.Monday I went up and cleaned/dusted/tidied(ish).
On Tuesday I made this weeks challenge (from UKS) as I had sudden inspiration (see last post).
On Wed I felt ill so I thought I'd rest for a day.
And yesterday? Well, the bloke dad wanted to fit the window called and said he could do it today. Which in the grand scheme of things is lovely as it's done and now dad can carry on with it. However, it's left me in a bit of a predicament...see the photos on the right? Yeah, that's my craft space. My desk is in the top photo - see it? Behind the door, sink, loo...and in the second photo? That little hint of a pink artbin tote? Behind the boxes, printer, cat bed (that he *never slept in)? Yeah, that's my paper and card.
So here's my grovelling apology to my lovely Magpies, Claire in particular. I can't make Stacey's CJ yet.( Or Vanessa's but hopefully that one will be done in time for next month!) If had thought for one second that my stuff would become so boxed in I would have taken bits out when I cleaned so I could do it in my bedroom but we were all taken by surprise at how quickly the bloke came round for the window fitting. I am so so sorry for the delay and I hope it doesn't cause too many problems.
I'm really sorry!!!!

I really would
I would kiss this nose every day if I wasn't so afraid of the fangs.
And claws.
And fish breath.
Phew!
Apart from that - *every* day.
And I really would. I mean, just look at it - who wouldn't?!
I used AC thickers, SC Dec. kit (metropolitan) and some chestnut zing.
I love Metropolitan *so* much. I wish I'd been subbing at that time as I would have gotten an extra set of the SC exclusive papers - I'm eking them out till the last! (you might have worked that out for yourself with my butterfly punch waste accent ;o)
Ooh, I just remembered another one - distress something! Looking at it you can't really tell, but I roughed up the edges of all the paper pieces with my scissors.
Thank you for looking :o)
