With the big craft room in loft/dad's bedroom switch over with (well, sort of) I can start sorting out my supplies and get to making things properly again instead of scrounging up just enough to put together the weekly challenge layouts on UKS.
I still haven't got all my stuff in one room (or entirely sure where some bits are - bit worried about my misplaced Slice cards!) but I was itching to make something so here we are.
My Studio Calico kit arrived this afternoon so I picked out one of our teams mojo prompts - Make a layout that's a different size to normal, from Claire. 1hr after kit arrival this layout about my friends doggy was made!
I haven't made a 8x10 for a while now so I went through an old album (2007 'diary') to see if I had spare page protectors. While I was flicking through I noticed I had a lot of 'empty' places with just a photo &/or a piece of ready cut card...Hmm...So, I thought I'd better start filling the gaps in!! I can't believe I haven't finished them!! Luckily '07 me had written a list that I kept with the album of what I wanted the pages to be and say - thank you past me!
Funny thing was I picked the page of my friends doggy because the kit came with a adorable doggy stamp and I completely forgot to use it! Ah well...
I encourage everyone to look through an early album. It's funny seeing how much my style has changed in some ways, and stayed the same in others. Although there are a couple that I might re-do. Looking at them I remember I hated them at the time, maybe nows the time for a re-style!?
Another good reason to check old layouts? I was looking at one I made from our holiday that year. I made the photos to flip up with journalling underneath. I was having a look at what I'd written and they all fell off!! The double sided tape had dried up and left that yellow mark that dry tape does - argh!! On a plus side, none of my alphas have fallen off! (wish I could say the same for more recent layouts - seems DST glue's improving and Thicker glue is going down the drain)
Now wasn't that a nice ramble. Hope everyone's doing well xxx
